When are payments due?
A $250 deposit is due when you reserve your appointment. When placing a photo order, full payment is due at the time of order.
Do you take credit cards?
Yes, we accept credit cards or cash.
How can I prepare my child for their session?
Photo sessions can be overwhelming for children, the same as for adults. Resist the urge to tell your child to smile or insist they be on their best behavior as this often backfires. The “window of opportunity” with children is short. We suggest doing individual sittings in order to capture each child’s unique personality.
Should I wear glasses in my photographs?
Having light reflect off of lenses can create a glare in your photos. We highly recommend that you visit your optometrist--most will be happy to remove your lenses or let you borrow a set of frames similar to what you normally wear for the session! Glare from the light can usually be prevented, but not guaranteed. Glasses that change in different lighting conditions should NEVER be worn for your photo session if it is outside.
Can I invite a friend to watch my session?
Of course! If it will help you feel more relaxed, bring a friend or family member along! As a gentle reminder - unless they are included in the session, it is best to leave small children at home as we want the focus of your time with Cheyne to be on creating amazing photographs.
How early should I arrive for my (our) appointment?
No more than 5-10 minutes before your appointment. The important thing is to be ready when you arrive. The session begins at the scheduled time so if you are late, you may have less time for your photo session. If you are including children, definitely do not arrive too early -- their attention span is short and we want to maximize time in front of the camera.
What is retouching and how much does it cost?
Normal retouching is included in everything you purchase, except previews. Normal retouching includes softening lines around the mouth and eyes and removal of blemishes. If desired, additional edits are made per photo and priced according to the request.
How long does it take to get the previews back?
Previews are viewed during the Reveal and Selection appointment. Cheyne will schedule the Reveal and Selection appointment within seven days after your photo shoot.
